Direct oral anticoagulants and reversal agents in clinical practice:insights into DOAC discontinuation, minor bleeds, thromboembolic events and protocolized use of reversal agents
We observed that the discontinuation rates varied significantly among the different DOACs. Compared to apixaban, the use of dabigatran and rivaroxaban was associated with a higher risk of discontinuation. Our data showed that minor bleeding was common in users of DOACs, especially with apixaban and rivaroxaban. Our study found that the average cost of minor bleeding exceeded those reported in the literature. We found that in DOAC users, the levels of trust, annoyance, and concern were not significantly affected by minor bleeding or adherence to treatment and impacted daily life and physical activities. However, we observed large inter-individual differences, with some patients reporting a high impact of minor bleeding. Our findings indicate a stronger association between rivaroxaban therapy and VTE than with other DOACs. The protocols for management of DOAC -related bleeding and perioperative DOAC use vary in content and often do not include information. We found moderate to complete adherence to the bleeding protocol for PCC, idarucizumab, and andexanet alfa, respectively. The adherence to urgent protocols was low for PCC, idarucizumab, and andexanet alfa, respectively
Pre-electoral coalition agreement from the Black-Scholes point of view
A political party can be considered as a company whose value depends on the
voters support i.e. on the percentage of population supporting the party.
Dynamics of the support is thus as a stochastic process with a deterministic
growth rate perturbed by a white noise modeled through the Wiener process. This
is in an analogy with the option modeling where the stock price behaves
similarly as the voters' support. While in the option theory we have the
question of fair price of an option, the question that we ask here is what is a
reasonable level of support that the coalition of a major party (safely above
the election threshold) and a minor party (under or around the election
threshold) should achieve in order the minor party to get one more
representative. We shall elaborate some of the conclusions in the case of
recent elections in Montenegro (June, 2023) which are particularly interesting
due to lots of political subjects entering the race
On Existence and Admissibility of Singular Solutions for Systems of Conservation Laws
A weak notion of solution for systems of conservation laws in one dimension is put forward. In the framework introduced here, it can be shown that the Cauchy problem for any n×n system of conservation laws has a solution. The solution concept is an extension of the notion of singular δ-shocks which have been used to provide solutions for Riemann problems in various systems, for example in cases where strict hyperbolicity or the genuine-nonlinearity condition are not satisfied, or in cases where initial conditions have large variation. We also introduce admissibility conditions which eliminate a wide range of unreasonable solutions. Finally, we provide an example from the shallow water system which justifies introduction of δ-distributions as a part of solutions to systems of conservation laws.publishedVersio
